A wrist fracture wasn’t how I planned to start 2025.
Long story short, I couldn’t get timely treatment through the NHS to prevent long-term complications, and I was running out of time with misaligned bones. I saw Mr. Naqui and it was apparent from xrays I needed the surgery asap. That’s when Donna, Mr. Naqui’s PA, stepped in. In just three days, she managed to arrange surgery at Alex Hospital—an almost impossible task. Her compassion, dedication, and determination made all the difference.
I had never undergone surgery before and was terrified. However, Mr. Naqui and the anaesthesiologist took the time to answer all my questions, explain the procedure step by step, and reassure me throughout the process.
Mr. Naqui did an exceptional job realigning the bones. I’ve received many compliments on the scar—it’s incredibly neat and will soon be barely visible.
Right after the surgery, Mr. Naqui ensured I was under the care of the wonderful and very skilled hand therapist, Esther. I enjoy our conversations, even as she consistently pushes me beyond my limits in support of my recovery. During moments when I felt low or overwhelmed by the fracture’s impact, he immediately asked me to see him in the clinic. At appointment, he told me : “to love my hand as it is beautiful.” He emphasized that my recovery would depend not just on physical therapy but also on how I perceive and care for my hand.
