We had a great response on Saturday to our health awareness campaign for arthritis of the Hand and Wrist. Many members of the public attended and common themes included how to get the right diagnosis, how to manage pain without surgery and what surgical options are available. The best general advice is to keep your hands warm, keep them moving and take painkillers as required. If your pain is not being managed well by these measures, then it may be worth seeing your local hand surgeon for consideration of a steroid injection or other treatments.
